What hope remains
When lights go out and time, in all inevitability exposes those
We held in such a high regard
Those who we turned to for a voice and guidance in the dark?
What hope remains
When your heroes have abandoned you
And collide head on with the things you once held so close to your heart?
What hope remains
When you can see your own hands have become so idle and misguided that they tremble in submission?
Seems my heroes have all died
I don't have the will to fight
And I can't remember why
I gave a fuck in the first place
We fought and fell and failed as one
And it was our failures that gave us the spirit to endure
I loved your rage
Believed your love
It broke me and rebuilt me into someone I could be proud of
And now you're gone
It's as though you were never there
I fight and I fall and fail alone, my voice extinguished in the air
I'm accepting now because I feel nothing
Except the haunting suspicion this all meant nothing in the first place
Seems my heroes have all died
I don't have the will to fight
And I can't remember why
I gave a fuck in the first place
There is beauty in failure;
It reminds us that we're all human
There is beauty in growing apart;
It reminds us that we all change
We're a sum of the love, the joys and passions of the people around us
As long as we're able to gain inspiration from those we adore
Hope remains
